Graduation Honors

Cum Laude:
Overall G.P.A. of 3.0 cumulative high school record.
Magna Cum Laude:
Overall G.P.A. of 3.5 cumulative high school record.
Bar Association:
Based on scholarship (candidate must have 3.0 G.P.A), character, service, and leadership.
Bernie Saggau Award:
Presented annually to athletic participant for overall contribution, citizenship, and sportsmanship.
Burgess Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship:
Scholarship awarded to any student entering health related fields.
Either two or four year programs.
Given to a student in their fourth year of high school for outstanding citizenship.
Cliff Uhl, JR. Scholarship:
Memorial scholarship given based on athletic participation for Anthon-Oto district.
John R. Welsh Scholarship:
Local scholarship given based on college business major and participation in high school business classes.
Marion "Chick" Ashley Scholarship:
Given to students based on overall performance and school activity participation.
Masonic Eastern Star Scholarship:
Local Chapter from Anthon.
Gives two scholarships for Anthon-Oto students only.
Competition based on leadership, work experience, as well as G.P.A.
Given in amounts of $500.00 and $1,000.00.
Oto Alumni Scholarship:
Award presented on basis of written recommendations and personal essays.
Oto V.F.W.:
Gift given by drawing two names from the senior class and award them this gift.
Outstanding Math, Science, and Computer Scholarship:
Based on faculty recommendations, overall G.P.A., test scores, and outstanding performance in the areas of
mathematics, science, and computer science.
Presidential Academic Fitness Award:
Student must have a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher and score in the top 85% on ACT.
State of Iowa Scholarship:
Given to students throughout the state.
Completion based on ACT scores, G.P.A, and the student must attend an Iowa college.
Tandy Corporation Scholarship:
Given to an individual in the top 2% of graduating class, based on overall G.P.A, and outstanding performance
in the areias of science, mathematics, and computer science.
Wimeca Scholarship:
Annually one Wimeca Scholarship is presented to a student who lives in the Anthon-Oto Community School
Annually one Wimeca Scholarship is presented to a student who lives in the Maple Valley Community School
Selection based on G.P.A., ACT, and school participation.
